Ocean City Maryland Beach Engagement

Ocean City, Maryland

|

Working with couples that are so passionately in love is one of my favorite things — and when they’re two of my closest friends, it’s all the more special. Kelsey and Alex have been in my life since college, Kelsey was my roommate for three out of fours year at school and she began dating Alex our Junior year. While we joked that he we was our third roommate, in all seriousness they are truly two of my closest friends.

Although their wedding was only a few weeks away, when we decided to do their engagement photos on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland I couldn’t have been more excited. Matt and I headed down to stay the weekend with them at Alex’s family home, crossing our fingers for great weather.

Well, the weather started out great — earlier in the day we headed to a park to do a few photos there, and although it was quite warm we had nothing but sunny skies.

However, as the day went on we noticed some storm clouds gathering on the horizon… of course, as we were heading to the beach for their sunset photos. As soon as we stepped foot on the sand, it began to rain. Although we were initially devastated — Matt and I had made the 5 hour drive for nothing! — we quickly realized our only option was to embrace it… and that’s what we did.

Kelsey and Alex have a undeniable chemistry, and putting them in front of the camera only intensifies it. These two were absolutely incredible to work with, they are the truly rare couple that needs little to no direction to create epic, passionate photos, which makes my job easy. The rain did nothing but add an even more wild and mystical element to their photos, and I could not love this gallery of images more.
