This engagement session almost didn’t happen — but oh man, I am SO happy that it did!
Dominique and Brian are both officers in the US Army and are based in North Carolina, so we scheduled their engagement photos around when they would be in New Jersey for Memorial Day Weekend.
Well, if you live in New Jersey you probably know that it absolutely poured all Memorial Day weekend, and we didn’t know the next time Dominique and Brian would be back in the area. Thankfully, the skies cleared long enough on the morning of Memorial Day to fit in their engagement session before they had to head back to North Carolina later that afternoon!
These two have actually known each other since they were in elementary school. Brian and his brother are childhood friends with Dominique’s cousins, who are like siblings to her. They had all been friends for a long time, and then officially started dating about 4 years ago!
Brian popped the question a few days before Christmas 2020, under the guise of doing some last minute shopping in LBI. They went down on the beach to go for a walk after grabbing lunch, and by the water he asked Dominique to marry him!
“It was very special as we were the only people we could see on the stretch of beach we were on,” Dominique explained. “We also hadn’t been to the beach together in almost two years with our schedules, and I was so surprised and happy!”
I couldn’t be more excited for Dominique and Brian’s wedding this December at The Farmhouse in Hampton, NJ! Working with these two is such a joy, and I know their wedding will be so incredibly special.
