How do I book a session?
Fill out this form! In order for me to get back to you with pricing and availability as soon as possible, please provide the date and location of your session or event. A 50% retainer is needed at the time of booking to reserve the your date, and the balance is then due the day of.
What types of photography do you do?
I do it all – for the most part! – including lifestyle sessions (portraits, families, maternity, pets), couple sessions (engagements, proposals, anniversaries), and events (bridal showers, baby showers, gender reveals).
How much does a session cost?
Engagement and lifestyle collections are a flat rate, while event collections are priced hourly. For more information about specific types of sessions, check out the details here. Please contact me directly for a custom quote.
Do you travel and is there an additional fee?
Yes, I do travel! Sessions outside of New York City are subject to travel fees. Please contact me for a custom quote for your session.
What are the next steps after I fill out the contact form?
I will get back to you as soon as possible and let you know my availability. If I am available, I will send you a proposal which includes a summary of services, an invoicing schedule, and a contract. Once you sign the contract and pay the 50% retainer, your session/event will be officially booked!
What should I wear for my session?
I recommend wearing neutral, light colors for your session. If your session is with a significant other, try to wear colors and patterns that complement each other, but are not exactly the same/similar.
How many photos do we get?
The numbers of photos you will receive depends on the length of your session or event. I estimate that after editing and retouching I will deliver approximately (but not limited to) 50-75 photos per hour of shooting time.
Do you include every photo you take?
No, I will not send you every single photo I take, but here’s why – I do not include duplicate images, unfocused shots, or shots where you are blinking, making a funny face, etc. I want to save you the time it would take to sort through each image and simply give you the best of the best.
When will we receive our photos?
You will receive a link to view and download all of your high-resolution photos within 3 weeks of your session or event. Editing and retouching are part of all collections so that I can provide you with the highest quality of work. I am happy to do a second round of retouching to a select list of photos (free of charge!) if there are additional changes you would like made. I want you to love your photos!
Can we share our photos online?
Yes! I LOVE when my clients share their images! You’re more than welcome to share your photos with friends, family, and on social media – but I do ask one small favor of you. When sharing my photos online, please credit my work and do not add additional filters to it. I’m proud to say that referrals are my main source of bookings, so when you credit me it helps my business immensely. If you’re unsure how to credit, all you have to do is add a caption and/or tag my account @jillsahner, or share my website jillsahner.com.
