Providence, Rhode Island
When your couple wants to take their engagement photos in a museum… you do it! Marissa’s vision for her and Bradley’s engagement photos was very chic, very candid, and very editorial — and I think we certainly achieved that. The RISD Museum was the perfect setting to bring her vision to life, and I’m so grateful for these two for showing me around Providence… even though we went to college together only twenty minutes away!
All three of us went to Bryant University and although I didn’t know them well at the time, I am so glad we were able to reconnect. Together these two live in Providence — Marissa a native Rhode Islander, and Bradley originally from Connecticut. And yes, they did meet at Bryant!
“We met our spring semester freshman year of college in an intro to psych class,” as Marissa tells it. “Bradley was late (naturally) and the last seat available was next to me. He immediately started flirting, and I was hesitant but he was persistent! He walked me home from class one day and I followed him on Twitter. When he followed me back, I slid into his DMs with a sarcastic comment… and the rest is history!”
Fast forward a few years, and Bradley asked Marissa to marry him!
“It was my birthday weekend! He planned a lunch in Providence at one of our favorite sushi restaurants and told me we were going for a birthday lunch with my parents. When we got there, he popped the question in front of the Providence skyline with both sets of our parents and my best friend watching from the restaurant window. After lunch, he planned for our closest friends to be at our house and the whole day turned into a mini-engagement party. I’m sure I sound like every other bride when I say it was the most perfect day!”
Marissa has an oval solitaire on a gold band, and it’s exactly what she wanted. “We didn’t shop for it together, but let’s just say he had a very detailed idea of what I wanted.”
These two love entertaining their friends, hanging out with their family, taking drives together, and eating Taco Bell. I am so excited for their wedding next May, it’s going to be a gorgeous day!
