Plainview, New York
While Rebecca and Zach’s intimate backyard wedding was not exactly the day they had originally imagined, it was such a special day nonetheless. The full week of rain finally took a break just long enough to give them a beautifully sunny (and only slightly chilly) day full of the joy, happiness, and love they deserved.
Rebecca and Zach first met in college. As Rebecca tells it…
“We were introduced the first month of freshman year at Penn State, exactly 10 years ago! We were instantly drawn to one another and became fast friends. Over the next 3 years, as our paths continued to intertwine between parties, tailgates and the occasional late night food run-ins we remained close friends. By senior year, we came to realize our relationship had grown beyond friendship and into something much greater, and we’ve been together ever since!”
Fast forward a few years to living on the Upper East Side in New York City. Zach told Rebecca they were invited to a party for friends in their apartment building on the roof. When they got upstairs and Rebecca opened the door, she saw that it was setup for an engagement — so she immediately shut the door and let Zach know they were interrupting someone’s proposal. Zach pushed the door open and said, “It’s for us!” The roof was decorated with pictures of the two of them, rose petals, and string lights. Rebecca was totally shocked, and she (of course) said yes!
I loved working with Rebecca and Zach on their wedding day! These two were so easygoing and fun, and I felt instantly welcomed into their families. And any wedding that ends with piñata replicas of the bride and groom is a successful wedding in my book!
Congratulations to the Fellers — I couldn’t be happier for these two as they start the next chapter of their lives together!
