Classic Spring Wedding at The Gramercy

Hazlet, New Jersey

A little rain couldn’t stop Alexandria and Jon from having an absolutely beautiful wedding celebration at The Gramercy! Although the forecast went back and forth all week leading up to their special day, thankfully we were still able to take advantage of moments of clear skies for photos. But from start to finish, these two had the best attitude about their rain plan and were truly able to remain focused on what mattered most — celebrating their love, and finally making their union official.

Allie and Jon first met in college in 2008! As Allie tells it, “We spent the first 9-10 years of knowing each other being friends. We’ve always had a connection, it’s what helped us to have such a solid foundation in our friendship, but the timing was always off for us from a romantic perspective. Until the summer of 2017 when we found ourselves both single and a few cocktails in, and the timing was finally right!”

Fours years later, Jon proposed on October 15, 2021 in front of their (hiding!) families as they were walking along the water, the same way he had asked Allie to be his girlfriend years before. Her ring is a traditional, 6-prong round solitaire. “It’s exactly what I wanted! After being together for 4 years before being engaged, he definitely knew what I wanted.”

Together these two love to travel and take weekend trips. They also love food and enjoy trying new places, as well as going out with their friends and families. At the end of the day, though, they also love to spend time just the two of them relaxing together.

When I asked Allie about where they drew inspiration for their wedding day, she said, “From the very beginning, I wanted something that felt like us. Truly, purely, fully us and the closest people to us. I wanted something that was classic, timeless, elegant and FUN!” As for their venue, “We just felt it when we walked in. I knew nothing about planning a wedding prior to this and every vendor, every decision was based entirely on the feeling we got.”

From first looks with Allie’s dad, step-dad, brother, and groom-to-be at Deep Cut Gardens, through emotion-filled dances and speeches at their reception, I couldn’t be happier to have been able to capture so many sweet memories for Allie and Jon — congratulations again to the new Mr. and Mrs. Pace!
