Jackie and David’s wedding day at Liberty House was a heartfelt celebration filled with meaning, history, and the most stunning backdrop of the New York City skyline. These two first crossed paths on Hinge in late 2019 and while their love story didn’t begin with instant sparks, it unfolded naturally and beautifully over time. From their first date in Astoria right before the holidays, to spending more time together as the world slowed down in early 2020, their connection grew steadily. By the time David proposed on the Hoboken waterfront in February 2024 — completely surprising Jackie in front of the Frank Sinatra statue — they both knew they had found their forever.
Their proposal was carefully thought out, with David secretly taking note of Jackie’s ring size and dream cut after a passing comment months earlier. With a little help from her mom, he designed the most perfect emerald-cut ring and orchestrated a surprise evening with family and friends. Jackie describes being in shock, asking him “What are you doing?!” as he knelt down on one knee. That same energy of joyful disbelief carried right into their wedding day.
For their celebration, Jackie and David envisioned a day that reflected both of them — modern, meaningful, and rooted in family history. With Liberty House as their venue, they not only honored their love for the water and skyline views but also the legacy of their Jewish families, who had generations earlier arrived through Ellis Island just steps away. It was the perfect place to begin their next chapter as husband and wife.
The early September day brought cool, cloudy skies that gave way to the most magical golden sunset. Jackie and David got ready separately at a nearby hotel before sharing a joy-filled first look by the historic brick train station in Liberty State Park. With the Manhattan skyline as the backdrop, their wedding party photos set the tone for the evening, followed by a heartfelt ceremony under the chuppah with the same sweeping views.
The rest of the night was nothing short of unforgettable. From emotional toasts to an energetic dance floor, Jackie and David were surrounded by their closest family and friends, soaking in every moment of their celebration. It was an honor to document such a meaningful day for these two, and I couldn’t be happier for the new Mr. and Mrs. Rodman!
