Jersey City, New Jersey
|
Kelly and Tyler’s Jersey City engagement session was such a joy to photograph. These two have the kind of love story that feels meant to be — from first meeting on their very first day of work together in October 2020, to countless “mini lunch dates” at the office, to their first real date in Philly where Tyler planned an entire day full of thoughtful adventures. It didn’t take long for them both to realize they had found someone truly special.
Fast forward to the holiday season of 2024, and Tyler knew it was time to ask the question. Wanting to include Kelly’s beloved family dog, Leo, he originally planned a proposal during a hike — but when a snowstorm hit, he quickly pivoted. Instead, he asked her to marry him on the very street where she grew up, designed by her late grandfather and named after her grandmother, right in front of her family’s home. Surrounded by so much meaning and love, it was the most heartfelt proposal Kelly could have imagined.
After four years together in Philadelphia, these two recently moved to Jersey City for Tyler’s new job in Manhattan. Returning closer to their North Jersey roots, they’re embracing life in a new city — exploring the neighborhood on long walks, trying out new restaurants, and continuing to share so many adventures together.
For their session, we started in Van Vorst Park, where the charming greenery and historic brownstones made the perfect backdrop. As the evening light softened, we headed to the waterfront for sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline. Kelly and Tyler laughed easily together the entire time — their warmth and connection made every moment feel effortless and genuine.
I cannot wait to see all that lies ahead for these two as they plan their wedding day and the beautiful life they’re building together.
