Shannon and Jacob’s early September engagement session at Van Vleck House and Gardens was the perfect mix of timeless elegance and natural beauty. These two have such a fun, heartfelt story, and it was a joy to capture this exciting chapter in their lives.
They first met as transfer students at Northeastern University in 2015, both studying Music Business. With so many classes together, they quickly became close friends, often joking that marriage between them would be a blast. Life had its timing, though — Jacob was in another relationship during much of their college years. But when he was single again senior year, everything shifted. He made the first move, and by graduation in 2019, they were officially together. Six years later, that friendship-turned-romance has only grown stronger.
Jacob’s proposal this past December was just as thoughtful as their story. Every year, their group of college friends takes a trip together, and for 2024 Jacob booked a beautiful Airbnb in Fallbrook, California. What Shannon didn’t know was that their friends had arrived early to decorate and set up. As soon as they walked in, Jacob proposed, surprising her completely. Their friends poured out to celebrate, and the rest of the weekend was filled with joy, relaxation, and so much love.
Now living in Burbank, Shannon and Jacob have embraced life in California. They love coffee walks around their neighborhood, hikes, pickleball with friends, and even a monthly subscription that sends them on surprise adventures — everything from pottery to kayaking. At the same time, they enjoy cozy movie nights at home just as much.
For their engagement session, Van Vleck House and Gardens provided the most romantic backdrop. Surrounded by lush greenery, historic architecture, and golden late-summer light, Shannon and Jacob were effortlessly themselves — laughing, holding each other close, and soaking in every moment together. It was the sweetest way to capture their love story ahead of their wedding day.
