Marie and Matt’s wedding day was the perfect blend of timeless elegance, heartfelt family traditions, and joyful celebration. From their emotional church ceremony to their lively reception at Morris County Golf Club, every detail came together beautifully for these two college sweethearts.
Their love story began at Providence College, where they first met at a house party during their sophomore year. As Marie tells it, “Matt made the first move and I did try to play hard to get, but in the end I fell in love!” What started as a fun and gradual connection soon became something deeper, and after more than six years together, they knew they were ready to begin the rest of their lives side by side.
Matt proposed on Sea Girt Beach, a place with special meaning for both of them. It was a tradition for Matt and his family to spend summers there, and for the past seven years he had shared that tradition with Marie. Telling her they were going to take family photos on the sand, Matt instead surprised her by getting down on one knee. It was a beautiful full-circle moment, later becoming the same beach where we took their engagement photos.
When it came to their wedding vision, Marie and Matt wanted a day that felt timeless, traditional, and family-oriented. Their palette of light blues and crisp whites, accented by hydrangeas, set the tone for a classic celebration. Family heirlooms added an extra layer of meaning — Marie wore her family veil, the altar and bridesmaids’ baskets came from her grandparents’ wedding, and they used a cake cutter that belonged to her other grandparents. Photos of their parents and grandparents on their own wedding days were displayed at the reception, weaving their love story into a beautiful legacy. Even their chosen church and venue held sentimental value, as both were the same places where Marie’s parents had married.
Their wedding weekend was one of the most beautiful of the year, a perfect way to say goodbye to summer. Marie got ready with her bridesmaids at her childhood home, slipping into her Justin Alexander gown with the help of her mom and cousin, who also stood by her side as maid of honor. Matt and his groomsmen prepared at the golf club before heading to Christ the King Church, where he was filled with visible emotion as Marie walked down the aisle with her father. The ceremony was filled with love, faith, and tradition — a true reflection of their story.
The celebration continued at Morris County Golf Club, where family and friends were ready to hit the dance floor. With laughter, music, and heartfelt sentiment filling the room, Marie and Matt began this new chapter surrounded by the love of everyone who matters most. It was such a joy to capture their day, and I couldn’t be happier for the new Mr. and Mrs. Mazzella!
