Bridgerton-Inspired Garden Wedding at Ashford Estate

Allentown, New Jersey

Allie and Shray’s wedding day was truly so spectacular! From the first time meeting this sweet couple for their sunrise engagement session on the Brooklyn Bridge, I knew their celebration at the Ashford Estate would be something special. Despite the early wakeup call, we talked and laughed the entire time and I felt like I was counting down the days until seeing them again for the big day.

These two first met in college at the University of Virginia where they both competed on the mock trial team. As Allie tells it, “We weren’t very close our first few years at UVA, but we began spending a lot of time together while preparing for the National Championship Tournament in 2017. Meanwhile, I was finalizing my law school decision. Shray had already decided to join a consulting firm in Chicago, and he joked that if I chose UChicago we would probably end up dating. The day after we won the 2017 National Championship title, I visited (and fortuitously fell in love with) UChicago Law. I committed, and we went on our first date just a few days later!”

Fast forward a few years, and Shray proposed to Allie on the Jersey City waterfront pier overlooking downtown Manhattan. Afterwards, they ventured to the top of the Empire State Building to take in the views as a newly engaged couple! Allie absolutely loves her engagement ring. “It is a radiant cut! I gave Shray a pretty specific idea as to what I was looking for, and we went to the Diamond District and looked at diamonds together. But he’s the one who picked it all out and worked with the jeweler to put it together. I love it so much!”

These two now live in Jersey City, and are hoping to move to NYC post-wedding. They love going out to eat (in fact, when they lived in Chicago they kept a running list of every restaurant they went to and rated them!) and going to the movies on the weekend.

When Allie first told me about the vision for her wedding, she mentioned she wanted it to feel like a Bridgerton-inspired garden party. I absolutely love all things Bridgerton, so of course that made me super excited. However, not even in my wildest dreams could I have imagined just how beautifully Allie and Shray’s day would come together. Thanks to the incredibly talented team at Twisted Willow Flowers, this celebration was filled with the most stunning florals and truly felt like you were stepping out for a promenade amongst the ton (had to do a Bridgerton reference, didn’t I?).

From start to finish, this wedding day was full of so much love and emotion, and I couldn’t feel happier to have been a part of it. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Gupta!
