A Colorful, Garden-Inspired Wedding at Fiddler’s Elbow

Bedminster, New Jersey

Some weddings feel effortlessly beautiful from beginning to end, and Elizabeth and Joe’s celebration at Fiddler’s Elbow was exactly that. Set against an unseasonably warm June weekend, their day was filled with thoughtful details, timeless design, and so much joy from the people who love them most.

Elizabeth and Joe first met on Bumble in October of 2022 and had their first date at a cozy wine bar on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. At the time, Elizabeth had just returned from a six-week work trip and had only recently welcomed her new dog, Tully, into her life. Despite the timing, her connection with Joe was immediate. One date quickly led to another, and by Christmas they had already met each other’s families. While Tully may have been a little skeptical of Joe at first, these days the two are completely inseparable.

One of the most meaningful parts of their story unfolded at Hacklebarney Cider Mill, a place that had long been special to Elizabeth and her family. Early in their relationship, she introduced Joe and Tully to the tradition of visiting each fall for cider donuts and pumpkin picking. What began as a simple outing quickly became an annual tradition. On their third visit, Joe surprised Elizabeth with a proposal, a hidden photographer, and a celebration with their families afterward!

Elizabeth and Joe’s wedding day began at Fiddler’s Elbow, where both bride and groom got ready onsite surrounded by their closest family and friends. From there we headed to the beautiful St. Vincent Martyr in Madison, where one of the most emotional moments of the day came when Joe saw Elizabeth walking down the aisle — his tearful reaction said it all. Surrounded by their loved ones, they officially became husband and wife before heading back to Fiddler’s Elbow to celebrate.

From the custom watercolor crest woven throughout the day to the patterned linens that transformed the reception space, every detail felt intentional and seamlessly connected. Most importantly, it was a celebration filled with genuine emotion, laughter, and excitement for the next chapter of their lives together.

This wedding day was the perfect reflection of everything Elizabeth and Joe have built together. It was such a joy to document this chapter for these two, and I could not be happier for the new Mr. and Mrs. Motola!
