Where to even begin with this absolutely stunning wedding day?! Bari and Joey are high school sweethearts — and what makes their marriage even more emotional for me is that I actually knew both of them in high school! When Bari reached out to me about her wedding, I couldn’t have been more excited. She is truly one of the most chic, stylish people I know, so I knew her day would be nothing short of perfection. And I think it exceeded even my expectations!
These two first met in middle school, and Bari’s best friend Christine is actually Joey’s cousin! They dated throughout high school, college, and post-grad — and when Joey popped the question in Central Park, Bari of course said yes. The Mansion at Natirar was the first, and only, venue they toured thanks to a suggestion from Bari’s mom. Right away, they knew that was it!
When I asked Bari where they drew inspiration from as they planned their wedding day, she told me that they knew they wanted an elegant, romantic wedding with lots of white flowers and greenery. “Our venue has a live greenery wall in the reception space so we wanted to play off of that too. Of course referencing Pinterest for inspiration along the way!”
In the week leading up to Bari and Joey’s wedding day, the weather forecast looked grim. The chance of rain seemed to be steadily increasing the closer we got, and as I drove to the venue that morning my windshield was pelted with raindrops. But somehow, the rain held off and the rest of the morning offered soft, cloudy skies with perfectly diffused light.
One of the most emotional moments of the day was the couple’s first look. As Joey turned around and saw his bride-to-be for the first time that day, he was instantly overcome with emotion. These two embraced and shared such a special moment together, and I held back my own tears as I reflected on how many years in the making this day truly was. Bari looked absolutely breathtaking in her exquisite Mira Zwillinger gown — the delicate floral details and beading was simply to die for. Joey’s tux leant itself flawlessly to the classic, sophisticated vibe of the day, and together these two looked nothing short of picture perfect.
Not only did the rain hold off for the ceremony — and so thankful it did, because the views were spectacular — but about thirty minutes prior, the sun unexpectedly burst through the clouds giving us gorgeous blue skies. All in all, these two had the most perfect wedding day and I am so happy to have been a part of such a special celebration.
Endless congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Graziano!
