Whimsical Summer Wedding at Tappan Hill Mansion

Tarrytown, New York

|

Bridget and Mark’s wedding day at Tappan Hill Mansion was everything a summer celebration should be. With unseasonably cool July weather, breathtaking Hudson River views, and the most beautiful golden light from beginning to end, it was one of those days that felt effortlessly perfect. Every part of their wedding reflected the joy, love, and excitement that surrounded them.

Their story is proof that sometimes timing really is everything. Bridget and Mark first matched on Hinge, but after exchanging a few messages, Bridget accidentally ghosted Mark (she insists it wasn’t intentional!). About a year later, fate gave them another chance when Mark recognized her profile on Bumble. He swiped right immediately, Bridget made the first move this time, and the rest is history. Their first date at Captain Lawrence Brewery confirmed what the dating apps had started, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

When it came time to propose, Mark planned a day that was filled with thoughtful details from beginning to end. He suggested visiting the New York Botanical Garden’s annual orchid show, something they had enjoyed together before, so Bridget didn’t suspect a thing. Even when Mark invited his sister and her boyfriend along, she simply assumed they wanted to spend the day together.

As they wandered into the final room surrounded by vibrant floral walls, Mark asked someone to take their photo. Instead of smiling for the camera, he got down on one knee and proposed with a ring featuring his grandmother’s diamond, set in a gold band exactly the way Bridget had always dreamed. He even included a hidden halo detail that made the ring even more meaningful.

Their wedding day carried that same sense of intention and joy from beginning to end. Bridget got ready at her parents’ home surrounded by her closest family and friends, while Mark spent the morning with his brother and sister before making his way to Tappan Hill Mansion. They shared a sweet first look overlooking the Hudson River before exploring the property’s historic grounds together. Once the estate owned by Mark Twain, the venue offered countless beautiful backdrops for portraits and perfectly complemented the timeless feel of their day.

Their ceremony was nothing short of magical. As they stood beneath the chuppah surrounded by their family and friends, warm sunlight streamed through the trees, creating the most incredible glow around them as they exchanged vows and officially became husband and wife.

As if the day couldn’t have been more beautiful, they were treated to the dreamiest golden hour overlooking the Hudson River. We slipped away for a few quiet moments together as newlyweds, capturing some of my favorite portraits of the entire day while the evening light wrapped everything in the softest golden glow.

The celebration continued inside with heartfelt toasts, an energetic dance floor, and the incredible backdrop of the Hudson as guests celebrated late into the evening. It was the perfect ending to a wedding day that was equal parts elegant, joyful, and deeply meaningful.

Bridget and Mark, thank you so much for trusting us to document such an incredible day. It was an absolute honor to celebrate alongside you both, and we wish you a lifetime of love, laughter, and many more second chances that lead to something wonderful.
