Brianna and Matt’s engagement session was the perfect blend of intimate, moody, and deeply personal — set on a cold early-December evening in New York City at one of their favorite restaurants.
Their story begins ten years ago as freshman-year neighbors at Quinnipiac University. After college, life took them in different directions until fate intervened again years later at a summer party. As Brianna was heading back to NYC, she asked if anyone wanted to split an Uber — and discovered Matt lived on the same block as her, in the building right next door. Neighbors once more, this time in the city. What followed was a year of close friendship that eventually turned into something more, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
Matt proposed on September 19th during a quiet getaway to Greenport, New York, a place they had both fallen in love with the year before. After a stop at a vineyard, they walked along a rocky beach at sunset, skipping stones, when Matt told Brianna she was his best friend and how much he loved her. The ring, a pear-shaped diamond on a whisper-thin gold band, was exactly her style.
Now living together on the Upper East Side, Brianna and Matt love good food, long walks through Central Park, cozy nights at home, and spontaneous days with no plans at all. Photographing them at an old-school Italian restaurant with a hidden speakeasy felt like the most natural choice — warm, romantic, and full of character. It was the kind of night that felt effortlessly them, and the perfect setting to document this season of their story.
