Sabrina and Kyle’s wedding weekend was a beautiful celebration of family, tradition, and a love story that has been more than a decade in the making. From a traditional Hindu ceremony at Sabrina’s family home on Friday, to their celebration at the Ashford Estate on Sunday, every part of the weekend felt incredibly meaningful and personal to the two of them.
These high school sweethearts first became close friends during their sophomore year before officially starting to date as seniors, with Kyle making the first move! From promposals at Natirar to “Monday Fundays” spent walking through their favorite parks, friendship was at the heart of their relationship from the very beginning. Even through four years of long distance during college, their relationship only continued to grow stronger.
Last March, Kyle surprised Sabrina with a proposal on a pier in Exchange Place overlooking the NYC skyline. What began as a stressful day involving some unexpected passport drama turned into a night full of surprises. After Sabrina said yes, Kyle had arranged for both of their families to celebrate over dinner, followed by another surprise waiting at home with all of their closest friends.
Their wedding weekend felt like such a reflection of the life they have built together. We began on Friday with a traditional Hindu ceremony at Sabrina’s parents’ home, where Kyle and his family were welcomed with open arms. It was so special to witness the blending of their families and cultures, and the perfect start to a weekend centered around the people they love most.
The celebration continued on Sunday at the Ashford Estate. Sabrina finished getting ready with her girls in the bridal salon before stepping into her incredible Justin Alexander gown with the help of her mom and sister. Before heading outside, she shared a series of emotional first looks with her bridesmaids, dad, grandpa, and brothers.
Sabrina and Kyle chose the infinity pond for their first look, and Kyle’s reaction to seeing her was easily one of my favorite moments of the day. He was completely overcome with emotion, and getting to capture that moment between the two of them was so special. From there, we explored the beautiful grounds of the estate for portraits before gathering their wedding party and families together ahead of the ceremony. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Sabrina and Kyle exchanged vows and officially became husband and wife. Then, it was time to celebrate!
This was the third wedding I’ve photographed within this friend group, with two more still to come, and at this point I know exactly what to expect from this crew. The party truly never stops! The dance floor was packed from start to finish, but beyond the energy of the reception, what stood out most was just how loved Sabrina and Kyle are. You could feel it in every speech, every hug, and every person surrounding them throughout the night.
Congratulations, Sabrina and Kyle! It was such an honor to document this incredibly special weekend and another chapter in a love story that started all those years ago in high school.
