Stylish City Elopement at The Beekman Hotel

New York, New York

I am truly at a loss for words when it comes to this elopement. I knew it was going to be absolutely stunning, between this sweet, gorgeous couple and this epic venue but… I was not prepared for just how incredible it would be.

Niki and Joe have been together for over seven years — and they’re high school sweethearts! They first met their sophomore year of high school, and started officially dating that spring.

After Joe proposed last October, these two began to think about what they wanted for their wedding. After a year like 2020, it was never more evident that your wedding can be exactly what YOU want it to be, and Niki and Joe chose just that.

They actually booked me with the intention to have a small Hoboken waterfront wedding in 2022, but decided to change their plans and opt for an elopement in NYC — and when they told me they were thinking of having it at The Beekman downtown, I could not have been more excited. While I had not yet been to The Beekman, its reputation preceded it and I knew it was going to be an absolutely magical place for these two to make their marriage official.

And then, the night before their elopement, hurricane Ida hit the east coast. New York City experienced some of the worst floods its ever seen and I went to sleep in an absolute panic, unsure if I would be able to get into the city the next morning.

When I woke up on the day of their elopement, NJ Transit was down, the subways were down, and I left my house praying with everything I had in me that the Holland Tunnel was open (because it hadn’t been, just hours before). Somehow, I made it into the city in record time, and the rest of the day couldn’t have been more perfect.

Niki and Joe read their handwritten vows on the beautiful wisteria-enveloped terrace of The Beekman Hotel. We did their first look and portraits in the magnificent atrium, and explored the penthouse suites with wonder. From there, it was time for an outfit change, and Niki shocked Joe with a gorgeous white jumpsuit.

We then headed to their favorite spot in the city, John’s Pizza on Bleecker, where they enjoyed the best wedding meal ever — pizza, obviously. Ending the day with portraits in the West Village was truly the cherry on top of an absolutely perfect celebration of their love.

Congratulations again, Niki and Joe! You two are the sweetest and deserve all of the happiness in the world. Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Geise!
