Vintage Taxi Central Park NYC Engagement

New York, New York

|

The perfect fall day for Stevie and Joe’s NYC engagement session! When Stevie mentioned a past session I did with the vintage taxi from Film Cars and was thinking of hiring the same car for their shoot, I couldn’t have been more excited! When couples want to incorporate a cab into their photos, hiring one is always the best option. We chatted through locations near Central Park since they also wanted to do some photos in the park after, and decided that the driveway at Tavern on the Green would be our best bet.

Since I had been going into the city for shoots a lot over the past few weeks, I decided to take the train in because I would be able to edit on the way there and back. Well, long story short my train never arrived so I had to rush home to get my car and drive in instead. NJ Transit, you are the bane of my existence. Thankfully I made it in with plenty of time to spare, but to my surprise the entire driveway at Tavern on the Green was full of construction as they were beginning to put up pavilions for the NYC Marathon (which isn’t even until November 5th!). I let Stevie know and began to run around the streets nearby to find another location for the car — so if you saw me sprinting through the Upper West Side with my giant camera bag… no you didn’t.

Luckily I was able to find a spot in front of a beautiful apartment building on a quiet side street so we were all good, but just goes to show there is never a dull moment when it comes to planning New York City sessions. From there, there were no more hiccups (phew!) and we were able to get all of the classic city locations Stevie and Joe had hoped for.

These two have been together for ten years, and first met in high school. As Stevie tells it, “We were definitely friends first, and Joe asked me to the junior prom which led to us dating — and we have been together ever since!” They got engaged this past July in Montauk on the beach (swooning!!!). “Montauk has been so special to me as my grandparents have a house there and I have been going there since I was a little girl. It is also special to us as a couple as he really got to know my family spending so much time there with us over many summers. Joe made the whole weekend so special proposing on the beach there and having all of our family there afterwards to celebrate.”

Stevie’s ring is SO stunning. “My ring is an elongated cushion cut diamond on a white gold pave band. The ring is exactly what I wanted, and Joe did an amazing job picking out my dream ring. We did not pick it out together, but last year my mom and I went to go try on diamonds for fun and I fell in love with the elongated cushion cut.”

Together these two live in Westchester, NY and are big foodies who love to try new restaurants in both the city and suburbs. Stevie and Joe both love to travel, and actually spent an entire semester in college studying abroad together. In the summer, they enjoy spending their weekends in Montauk with family and friends both on the beach and on the golf course. In the winter, they definitely spend more time staying in on the couch drinking wine and watching Netflix (my kind of people!).

I’m so excited for Stevie and Joe’s wedding next fall at the iconic St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Tribeca Rooftop!
