A Joy-filled Autumn Wedding at The Ryland Inn

The perfect fall day for sweet Carleigh and Bryan! This weekend was supposed to be another rainy one — much like the past seventeen weekends of the year (not an exaggeration!) but thankfully we didn’t see a single drop of rain. Although it was a bit windy, and at times the sky looked like it might open, we had occasional bursts of sun and nothing but clear skies. These two deserved nothing less! From the moment I began chatting with Carleigh and Bryan about their big day, I instantly clicked with them and knew their wedding celebration would be nothing short of incredible — and really, REALLY fun.

Carleigh and Bryan two have been together for over eight years. As Carleigh tells it, “Bryan and I met our freshman year of college at the University of Delaware. From the moment we met, the spark was pretty instant. It took some time for us to actually make it official since our friendship was so strong. I made the first move, but Bryan was persistent.”

Fast forward a few years, and Bryan popped the question! “On Friday, June 3rd of 2022 I came home from work to an empty apartment. Bryan had texted me that he left a “surprise” in the apartment prior to me getting home. I opened up our bedroom doors to a beautiful dress (that I told him months before “oh I would love to get engaged in this dress one day but I’ll never know when that is happening!”) with a note on top telling me where to meet him in Hoboken down by the water — no texts, no calls, and to wear the dress. We met down by the water on 11th street and that is where he proposed!”

Carleigh’s engagement ring is SO stunning. “I have a beautiful oval cut, engagement ring. It has a gold band with small diamonds along the sides. We went together back in February 2022 to look at rings just to get educated and see some options in person. We did not leave with a ring that day, however, I think Bryan knew exactly what he would be looking for after.”

Together these two live in Hoboken, where they love to explore and get dinner and drinks. When they began thinking about wedding venues, the Ryland Inn was an easy decision — Carleigh grew up 5 minutes down the road! “I had always known it was a magical venue that I would have to tour when the day finally came. My mom and I walked in and I instantly got the chills — tears brought to my eyes when entering the Grand Ballroom. Knowing that this venue would also allow me to get ready at my childhood home, while providing Bryan the comfort of the groomsmen cottage, was a no brainer for us!

From the emotional first looks with Carleigh and her bridesmaids, dad, and groom-to-be Bryan, to a pre-ceremony rager (yes, this actually happened), all the way through the end of their celebration (wild isn’t a strong enough word to describe the dancing I witnessed!) it was truly a perfect day that I will forever look back on with so much love. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Langan!
