Spring Cross Estate Gardens Engagement

Bernardsville, New Jersey

|

The final engagement session in my marathon week of engagements, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! I had my fingers crossed all week for great weather because Carolyn and Kevin were coming all the way from Annapolis, Maryland — and thankfully we had the most beautiful golden sunlight all evening.

These two first met, as Carolyn tells it, as a “typical modern day love story, aka, we met on a dating app! We talked for quite a while before finally getting a first date locked in (mainly because Kevin was so shy), but in hindsight we got to know each other really well before actually meeting which helped to make us both more comfortable. That theme has definitely carried out throughout our entire relationship — we like to enjoy and soak in every stage and milestone, and this engagement has been no exception! We’ve been together for about two and a half years now — November 14 will be 3 years — and we are SO excited to start this next chapter together!”

Kevin popped the question and totally took Carolyn by surprise! “I thought I was going to meet my sister and her kids for a day at the park (I wasn’t!) but instead got surprised with a sweet proposal just the two of us walking through the park.”

Carolyn’s ring is SO stunning, I think I audibly gasped when she showed me. Kevin did GOOD. “It’s an oval diamond on a plain gold band — exactly what I’ve always wanted! It feels classic and timeless which is really what we’re looking to reflect throughout every area of our wedding. I think it’s a perfect representation of us both. Kevin and I did look at a few ring options together, including the one he ultimately went with, but I told him to make the final decision on which he liked best.”

Although Carolyn and Kevin are both originally from New Jersey, they recently moved down to Annapolis together for Kevin’s job and are loving it so far. When they’re not binging one of their favorite TV shows on the couch, these two love going out to try new restaurants in the area. Carolyn is a huge foodie, and has been slowly turning Kevin into one too. Finding all of their new favorite places to frequent has been one of their favorite pastimes since moving down to Maryland, and they just recently nailed down their top crab cake spot!

I’m counting down the days until seeing these two again next March for their wedding at The Ryland Inn, it’s going to be a beautiful day!
