Working with couples like Gianna and Ethan make me love what I do even more than I already do. These two are truly the sweetest, and I literally don’t think we stopped laughing throughout their entire session!
Thankfully we got an absolutely beautiful spring evening, but upon arriving at Princeton’s campus I was so surprised to find it was graduation day! None of us had thought to check, despite the fact that it was, in fact, late May when university commencement typically is. Luckily everything was pretty much over by the time we started shooting, and campus ended up being nice and quiet — that combined with the most gorgeous evening light made for the best conditions for an engagement session!
Gianna and Ethan are probably one of my only “middle-school-sweetheart” couples! Amazingly, these two met when they were 12 and 13 years old at a mutual friend’s bat mitzvah. As Gianna tells it, “We started dating three months later and have been together ever since. We are approaching 11 years together! We quickly formed a friendship, and Ethan made the first move.”
Fast forward to 2021 when Ethan officially popped the question! “Ethan brought me to the beach for a dinner in Long Branch, and said he wanted to look at the water before dinner. So he walked me onto the beach and in the distance I saw a proposal set up, and I knew immediately that it was for me. I think I blacked out after that moment! Then after the proposal he had a surprise engagement party set up with all of our friends and family. It was the greatest day.”
Together these two love to travel when they can, go on walks, play with any and all dogs they can find, binge shows, and eat good food. I truly had the best time shooting with Gianna and Ethan in Princeton, and I couldn’t be more excited to document their wedding day next June at The Hamilton Manor — it’ll be here before we know it!
