Shelby and Austin’s October wedding at Crossed Keys Estate was an unforgettable celebration filled with joy, emotion, and the most beautiful light. The grounds glowed with early fall color, and every detail — from the lush greenery to the candlelit reception — felt timeless and romantic.
Their story began in March 2022 at a mutual friend’s birthday party, where two of their closest friends, one from Shelby’s college circle and one from Austin’s hometown, happened to be engaged and brought them both to the same celebration. As Shelby says, they “quite literally bumped into each other with cookie cake in hand.” It may not have been love at first sight, but it didn’t take long before something clicked. Their first date at Valerie sealed the deal, and even through a few international trips that kept them apart in those early weeks, they quickly realized they had found something real.
A little over a year later, Austin proposed during a walk on the beach in Long Beach Island, one of Shelby’s favorite places. As they strolled along the water Austin got down on one knee, and moments later both of their families appeared to surprise her and celebrate together. It was the perfect start to the next chapter of their story.
On their wedding day, Shelby got ready with her bridesmaids in the rustic yet chic Playhouse, surrounded by laughter and excitement, while Austin and the groomsmen spent the morning hitting golf balls at the Groom’s Cottage. With fourteen bridesmaids and fourteen groomsmen, it was one of my largest wedding parties yet — a true reflection of how loved these two are!
Shelby looked absolutely radiant in her customized WONÁ gown, effortlessly elegant and perfectly her. She and Austin shared a tearful first look before exploring the property for portraits, taking full advantage of the soft autumn light that made every photo glow. Their ceremony took place as the sun set behind the trees, creating the most romantic backdrop as they exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends.
As the evening continued inside the Farmhouse, candlelight and lush greenery transformed the space into an intimate, inviting reception. Surrounded by laughter, love, and nonstop dancing, Shelby and Austin celebrated their marriage in the most joyful way possible — the perfect ending to a day that felt like pure magic from start to finish.
