Downtown Hoboken Waterfront Engagement

Hoboken, New Jersey

|

I love when couples suggest doing something meaningful to the two of them for their engagement session! When Meghan asked if we could shoot in Dear Maud, a beautiful new restaurant that recently opened in Hoboken, I was so excited. Although these two didn’t meet at Dear Maud, they did first meet at a bar in Hoboken — so, close enough!

Meghan and Dan have known each other for four years now. As Meghan tells it, “We met briefly back in April 2019 at a bar in Hoboken. We didn’t speak again until October 2019, as we had a mutual friend and Dan asked that friend to set us up. We went on our first date in November 2019 and only took a month for us to make it official. We’ve been together for 3.5 years — the pandemic happened just a few months after we met, so we were able to spend a lot of time together during that time.”

Dan proposed in August of 2022 at their apartment! “We had an intimate proposal in our apartment on a summer morning, with our new puppy there with us. Dan planned a whole day — drinks at the place we first met, lunch at our first date spot, etc.” Meghan’s ring is a solitaire diamond with a thin diamond band, and she absolutely loves it. “We didn’t pick it out together, but I gave him a very brief description of what I liked and he killed it.”

Although these two first met in Hoboken and lived in Weehawken together for a few years, they recently moved out to the suburbs for a change of scenery. They enjoy trying new restaurants, watching sports, playing with their sweet pup, and frequenting the beach in the summer. I had so much fun in Hoboken with these two for their engagement session, and am so excited to document their wedding day next June at The Park Savoy!
