A gorgeous summer day celebrating Shannon and Chris! Their story began back in 2018 at Penn State, just a few weeks before graduation. What started as a casual blind date for a formal through a mutual friend quickly blossomed into something special. That very night, they discovered they were both moving to New York City after college to start jobs at the same company — fate had clearly been at play. A few early dates in State College, followed by a summer of adjusting to post-grad life in the city, set the stage for a love that would only deepen. By that winter they were officially a couple, and over the past few years they’ve built a beautiful life together, even purchasing their first home in Hoboken.
Chris planned a proposal that was nothing short of remarkable (and nearly impossible to pull off). For their five-year anniversary, he surprised Shannon with a trip to West Palm Beach. Despite a string of challenges along the way — canceled flights, bad weather, even a lost wallet — he stayed determined to follow through. After a night spent on a family boat, Chris whisked Shannon away to The Breakers for two nights. Later that day on the beach, he asked her to marry him. Against all odds the proposal went perfectly, and the two celebrated the start of their next chapter together.
On a warm August day, Shannon and Chris made their marriage official at the beautiful Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club. Shannon spent the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids in the elegant bridal suite, while Chris shared laughs with his groomsmen in the groom’s suite. The couple chose to share a private first look overlooking the green, and it was such a heartfelt moment before the excitement of the day unfolded. We couldn’t have asked for better weather for their portraits, wedding party photos, and family formals — the light was gorgeous and warm, the perfect complement to their summer celebration.
Their ceremony took place in Eagle Oaks’ breathtaking conservatory, a space flooded with natural light and surrounded by sweeping glass windows. When asked about the inspiration for their wedding day, Shannon and Chris shared, “We love Eagle Oaks because it’s a traditional space with beautiful details and such a light, airy feel in the glass atrium.” It was the perfect setting for them to exchange vows and officially begin their married life together. As the sun set, Shannon and Chris danced the night away surrounded by their closest family and friends, joy radiating from every moment of their celebration.
It was such an honor to capture Shannon and Chris’s wedding day, and to tell the story of a love that has grown so beautifully since their first chance meeting!
