What a beautiful, summer day celebrating Holly and Justin! Holly and I went to high school together, so when she reached out about photographing her wedding I was so excited and honored. It’s so much fun getting to be a part of so many wedding days for longtime friends, and truly makes it all the more special. And, although I hadn’t met Justin prior to their wedding day, it was immediately evidently clear that he and Holly are a perfect match.
I feel like I have said this about almost every weekend this year, but in the days leading up to Holly and Justin’s wedding the forecast called for storms all day. However, despite some high humidity, the rain held off until later that evening and we had sunny, blue skies instead. Fiddler’s Elbow is always such a gorgeous setting for a wedding day — Holly and Justin absolutely loved its sweeping, golf course views and historic stone facade. And, doesn’t hurt that Justin is a big golf guy. Truly, what better place to celebrate their love?
On the morning of, Holly and Justin prepared for their wedding day separately but did choose to share a first look before their church ceremony so they would have plenty of time afterwards to enjoy their time together. Holly stepped into her stunning Jasmine Bridal gown in the charming Fiddler’s Elbow bridal suite (and that the floor length gold mirror is to die for). Justin got ready with the help of his groomsmen down the hall, making sure he was looking dapper and photo-ready. Holly shared an emotional first look both with her bridesmaids and her dad, and by the time she was ready to see Justin we were all beyond excited to see his reaction — which didn’t disappoint! Despite the heat, we were able to take all of their portraits, family photos, and wedding party photos outside before heading to the church to make their union official.
These two chose to get married at a church in Holly’s (and my!) hometown (which, funny enough, I had never been inside despite driving past it for 31 years of my life). Their ceremony was filled with love and inspiring words, and before we knew it it was time to head back to the venue to celebrate! About halfway through cocktail hour, the skies finally opened and it POURED but thankfully we were done with any outdoor photos.
Honorable mention to Holly and her dad’s choreographed father-daughter dance, they absolutely killed it! I had the best time celebrating these two, and wish them all the very best in their marriage. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Bennett!
