Colorful, Floral-Filled Wedding at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club

Bedminster, New Jersey

Some wedding days simply feel joyful from beginning to end, and Kelly and Nick’s celebration at Fiddler’s Elbow was exactly that. Set against the venue’s elegant English stone architecture and lush spring landscape, their day was filled with vibrant florals, heartfelt moments, and the kind of love you can feel in every room. After an entire weekend of rain surrounding their wedding, Kelly and Nick were gifted nothing but sunshine and clear skies for their day, something that truly felt meant to be.

Their story began in the most unexpected way: through an Instagram DM sparked by an Italian deli in Nick’s hometown of Lyndhurst, New Jersey. Kelly had spent the day there with her best friend and shared a photo of their sandwiches on her Instagram story. Nick replied with, “Whatcha doing in my town?” and Kelly, quick-witted as ever, answered, “Enjoying a damn sandwich in peace.” What started as a playful exchange quickly grew into something much deeper. For Kelly, who had long imagined life might always just be her and her daughter, Nick’s patience, kindness, and steady love changed everything.

Last spring, Nick planned the sweetest proposal with the help of Kelly’s daughter at Holland Ridge Farms. On a beautiful sunny afternoon surrounded by endless tulips, her daughter pretended to snap a photo of the two of them before Nick got down on one knee. It was thoughtful, emotional, and centered around the family they had already built together.

From the very beginning of wedding planning, Kelly and Nick envisioned a celebration that felt welcoming, meaningful, and full of life. They chose Fiddler’s Elbow for its timeless elegance and old-world English charm, then brought warmth and personality into the space through colorful florals and whimsical design details. Every arrangement by Valerie Canale Designs added another layer of vibrancy to the day, perfectly balancing the refined setting with the bright, joyful atmosphere they wanted their guests to experience.

One of my favorite things about their wedding day was how intentionally relaxed it felt. Kelly and Nick chose not to do a first look before the ceremony, but by opting out of a wedding party and extending cocktail hour to an hour and a half, they created a timeline that allowed the entire day to unfold calmly and naturally. Kelly got ready alongside her mother and daughter before sharing emotional first looks with both her father and brothers. Each moment felt deeply personal and grounded in family.

When the ceremony finally began, Nick’s reaction to seeing Kelly walk down the aisle said everything. You could truly feel the love radiating from him. Their ceremony, officiated by Nick’s uncle, was heartfelt and intimate, made even more meaningful by the feeling that Nick’s late parents were somehow present in it all. With rain in the forecast for the rest of Memorial Day weekend, the sunshine they received that day felt like such a gift.

Kelly and Nick’s wedding was the perfect reminder that the most beautiful celebrations are often the ones centered on what matters most: family, connection, and being fully present with the people you love. It was such an honor to document this vibrant, emotional, joy-filled day for these two. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Haggerty!
