Chic & Elegant Wedding at The Madison Hotel

Morristown, New Jersey

What a beautiful day celebrating sweet Colleen and Dylan! As far as November weddings go, it was certainly on the cooler side with some chilly gusts of wind reminding us winter was on its way — but that didn’t stop these two from having the absolute time of their lives!

Colleen and Dylan first met at a gym in their town the summer of 2014 and have been together for over seven years now! They had both gone to the same high school, but Dylan was a few years older than Colleen. As Colleen tells it, “We both knew of each other but never actually met, so I like to think it was love at first sight when we did meet! I actually made the first move — but to be fair he says he thought I had a boyfriend at the time because a couple of my guy friends would always be at the gym with me.”

Dylan proposed to Colleen on the beach during a trip to Ocean City, Maryland in July of 2021. She was totally surprised — he planned an entire luxury styled picnic, and although he had to postpone it a few days due to the threat of hurricanes, the day he chose turned out to be absolutely beautiful. “I have a solitaire radiant cut ring! It’s perfect and exactly what I wanted. He picked it out on his own… with some help from instagram DMs I sent him.”

I’ve loved every minute of working with Colleen and Dylan, from the very first time I spoke with them on the phone, to their sunrise Halloween engagement session in Central Park, and all the way to hugging them goodbye on the night of their wedding. Only a few weeks earlier I had shot Colleen’s best friend Brooke’s wedding as well, and it was so special getting to see them stand by each other’s sides on one of the most important days of their lives. The Madison Hotel was the perfect setting for Colleen and Dylan to celebrate their marriage, offering plenty of indoor space in the conservatory with beautiful natural light when it got too chilly to be outside for photos.

I couldn’t be happier for this sweet couple and am so excited for them to begin this next chapter together as Mr. and Mrs. Cruz!
