This session juuuust made it into the tail end of peak fall in New York City, and I had such a great time with Brittany and Joe! These two first met in 2016 at a friend’s birthday party. As Brittany tells it, “While everyone was mingling at the party, I walked into the kitchen to find a guy rifling through my friend’s pantry and stealing snacks! Caught red handed, Joe turned around and I was immediately smitten. We talked for a while that evening, but I was disappointed when we were both pulled into other conversations and I never got a chance to get his number. As luck would have it, a couple of weeks later we spotted each other at a tailgate for Penn State’s annual Blue-White game and were inseparable.”
Joe proposed to Brittany this past June at Fort St. Louis in St. Maarten. As Joe tells it, “The Fort is located on an ocean hillside that gives you panoramic views of the entire island. We were the only two people at the Fort that morning, so we got to enjoy the beautiful views all by ourselves. While she was looking at one of the overlooks, I got down on one knee and told her to “Turn around”. From there it was a complete blur! Brittany was completely surprised. She had no idea that the proposal was coming. I also don’t remember what I even said, but apparently it worked because she broke down and said absolutely yes.”
The ring was a complete surprise to Brittany! Joe had the ring custom designed by Dejan Studio Jewelry in Alexandria, VA (the same jeweler who designed his mother’s ring). “My ring has a diamond center surrounded by a halo of diamonds with an intertwining band with leaf detailing and more diamonds! I love that Joe designed the ring with me in mind and love that he including a nod to me being a plant lover with the leaf detailing.”
Together these two live on the Upper East Side and enjoy exploring different parts of the city on weekends, attending concerts, taking as many ski trips as possible during the winter months, and snuggling with their three cats while having a movie night! I couldn’t be happier for these two, and wish them all the best in the rest of their wedding planning journey!
