The dreamiest day celebrating Michelle and Marissa! I absolutely love these two, from the moment we met at their engagement session in Hoboken last spring I just knew they were going to have such a fun and amazing wedding day. True to form with this mercurial spring weather, the forecast was back and forth in the week leading up — but thankfully we had nothing but clear (albeit, cloudy!) skies for these two all day.
This sweet couple first met in college! As Marissa tells it, “We met freshman year of college through a mutual friend (Marissa’s best friend from high school). We started out as friends, but became closer as time went on. We started dating sophomore year and have been together since. As for who made the first move, that’s still up for debate!”
They have been together for over 10 years now! Marissa officially proposed to Michelle in March of 2022. “She took me to our favorite point in Hoboken that lets you see the city skyline, although is was the coldest day of the year it was a dream.” Marissa and Michelle live together in Jersey City and enjoy at-home date nights, time with their family and friends, going to the beach, and hiking.
The Perona Farms Refinery was the perfect setting for these two to make their marriage official. Michelle and Marissa each had several bridesmaids and a bridesman, and while we kept the two brides separate all morning, their wedding party was free to roam! Their girls were the sweetest and so much fun. Marissa stepped into her stunning, satin, off-the-shoulder ballgown from Essense of Australia with the help of her mom and her Maid of Honor, Jaclyn. At the same time, Michelle slipped on a beautiful Sophia Tolli gown — complete with a plunging v-neck, stappy open back, and incredible bow — with her mom and sister, Nicole.
Michelle and Marissa shared a private first look at The Point, one of my favorite spots on the Perona Farms property. Neither of them knew what each other’s dress looked like, but they had shared pictures with family and friends to ensure that they went well together. Turns out, they were absolutely perfect and the same exact shade of ivory!
From start to finish, these two had an absolutely perfect day surrounded with the love and support of their closest friends and family. I am absolutely honored to have had the opportunity to capture such a special celebration, congratulations to the new Mrs. and Mrs. Cerniglia!
