Princeton, New Jersey

Two sessions at Princeton in the past month and I can’t complain — it’s truly one of the most beautiful areas in the state! Not to mention, it’s a super meaningful place to this sweet couple, Brooke and Mike. These two had one of their first dates there, as well as their first kiss, AND got engaged there!
Backing up, these two first met thanks to their mutual friend, Russell — who is actually going to be officiating their wedding!
As Brooke tells it, “We hung out a few times as a group, and Mike and I had instantly connected over our shared sense of humor. He then asked me out after a months of knowing each other and took me on a date to the MET, Lincoln Center, and then just wandered around the city for the entire day. I had initially thought we were just going to the city as friends (super naive, I know), but slowly realized it was much more than that as the day progressed. It was the most amazing day. We didn’t have our first kiss until a few dates later in Princeton which is one of the many reasons why that town means so much to us!”
Brooke and Mike got engaged on May 22nd of this year! I absolutely love their proposal story.
“Mike’s birthday is May 20th, so I planned a big birthday party for him at Beneduce Winery. Little did I know, that birthday party I had planned was disguised as our engagement party (I had absolutely no idea)! We went to brunch in Princeton that morning and Mike proposed to me there, then drove back to our house where some of our friends decorated and surprised us, and then went to the winery afterwards! It was a huge surprise and one of the best days of my life.”
Brooke’s ring is exactly what she had always dreamed of! “It’s a round stone in a cathedral setting on a diamond pave band. I tend to steer clear of gaudy, chunky jewelry and gravitate towards delicate pieces so my ring is literally my dream. It was a TOTAL surprise! I had absolutely no idea. Mike designed the ring (with the help of my mom) and I love it so much.”
Together these two live in Flemington, NJ and love going out to eat and drink with each other and friends, taking their adorable dog, Bear, on long walks, and skiing.
I can’t wait for them to celebrate alongside their family and friends at their wedding next October at the Lambertville Station Restaurant and Inn — it’s going to be the most beautiful day!
