I love shooting at new locations that I haven’t been before, and Jaclyn and Kevin sure showed me an amazing one! We hiked up to the reservoir at Rampo Reservation for their engagement session, and the views sure did not disappoint. This was where they had gotten engaged, so it was a super meaningful place for them.
Their sweet little Shih Tzu, Caesar, came along as well, and he was honestly such I pro — he did way better than me making his way up the mountain (I’ll admit I was a little bit winded as I’m not the most outdoorsy individual, but luckily myself and my cameras made it unscathed).
Jaclyn and Kevin have been together for just over six years now, and met through a dating app (just like me and Matt)!
“Kevin and I met through the infamous Tinder app back in July 2015, agreeing to meet up for the first time at the Boat Basin in NYC. Despite me being a little late (I won’t admit how late), Kevin stuck around and we chatted for hours. The date ended with Kevin smoothly hailing a cab for me on the first try. We had only a couple of more dates in the city, including a Central Park picnic with his new pup (Caesar!), before we made it official!”
Kevin proposed to Jaclyn on Labor Day weekend of 2020, and she was beyond surprised!
“Every year, we go to Ramapo Reservation with our pup, Caesar, and hike up to a private little area with this awesome view. We went really early as we wanted to avoid crowds. I should have known then that something was up because Kevin is not a morning person, and he woke up with no problem! We made the trek up to the top of the rocks, and I put down my stuff so that I could take a picture of Kevin and Caesar for their annual picture. I turned around to see him on one knee with the ring.”
Jaclyn, of course, said yes! Her engagement ring is a custom-made round-cut diamond set in rose gold.
“It’s perfect! While Kevin did ask me what style of rings I like months before the proposal, I had no idea he was going to propose when he did — especially since we were in the middle of a pandemic. Kevin didn’t know what my finger size was so when I had fallen asleep one night, he tied a string around my finger and brought that to the jeweler.”
Together, these two live in Teaneck, NJ but will be looking to buy a house soon (and hoping to before their wedding next year). Other than hanging out with Caesar, they love doing anything outdoors together especially hiking and playing tennis. They are also huge Yankees fans, and try to go to as many games as possible!
I can’t wait for Jaclyn and Kevin’s wedding next September at the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, New Jersey! Congratulations to these two (and Caesar)!
