Cozy Late-Autumn Wedding at The Ryland Inn

Whitehouse Station, New Jersey

|

There is something so special about a late-November wedding at The Ryland Inn. The air feels crisp, the light softens beautifully, and the entire property takes on the coziest glow. For Lacey and Will, this long-awaited day was the perfect reflection of who they are as a couple — warm, inviting, joyful, and so deeply connected.

These two have been together for ten years, and their story feels meant to be from the very beginning. They first met at a high school party where their paths crossed almost by accident. Lacey immediately noticed Will, and tried her best to bump into him in conversation. A few months later she got his number from a friend and texted him for the first time on New Year’s Eve — a date they now affectionately call their “secret anniversary.” From that moment they became inseparable, and made things official that March.

Their proposal story is just as joyful. Lacey, the planner of the relationship, was convinced she would never be surprised. She thought she had everything figured out for a weekend trip to New Hope that Will suggested. Instead, he completely surprised her the week before during what she thought was a simple dinner with friends. When the hostess walked them to the very back of the crowded restaurant and past a beautifully decorated wine-cellar room, Lacey assumed someone else must be celebrating. It wasn’t until Will pulled her back that she realized the entire moment was for her. She describes screaming, jumping, and feeling pure excitement. They spent the night together celebrating just the two of them, followed by a stay at a hotel with a rooftop bar. The New Hope weekend never existed, it was part of the plan all along.

On the morning of their wedding day, Lacey got ready in the Hayloft Cottage while Will spent the morning in the groom’s cottage. Both spaces felt calm and happy, and the anticipation built quietly as the day began. Their first look took place in front of the historic former country home, surrounded by fading fall foliage that was still hanging on. It was such a sweet moment, and the perfect way to start their portraits together.

They said their vows at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Three Bridges, then made their way back to The Ryland Inn for a celebration filled with laughter, emotion, and so much dancing. The reception perfectly captured the whimsical, romantic, intimate feeling Lacey envisioned. The Ryland Inn’s clean, organic, cottage-style charm paired flawlessly with their cozy late-fall palette. Every part of this day felt personal and joyful — truly the sweetest celebration of two people who have grown together for a decade and continue choosing each other every day. Congratulations to sweet Lacey and Will!
