Sometimes the best wedding days aren’t the ones that go perfectly according to plan — but the ones that surprise you in the most beautiful ways. Nakora and Dan’s spring wedding at Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, NY was exactly that. Nakora had dreamed of a lush, floral-filled wedding that fully embraced the beauty of spring. While the weather didn’t deliver the clear skies they had hoped for, the rain brought its own kind of magic. The misty views over the Hudson Valley, the glistening paths, and the cozy atmosphere only added to the intimate and emotional energy of the day.
This wedding came together in just eight months, but you’d never know it from how beautifully it all unfolded. As Nakora shared during the planning process, “We chose our venue in a very serendipitous fashion — we toured it, we fell in love with the outdoor space. They happened to have a cancellation in April, it was VERY soon but due to some family health issues we wanted sooner rather than later so we took a leap of faith and booked it. The wedding is all about celebrating love and family and being together.”
That leap of faith led them to one of the most charming venues in the Hudson Valley. With its historic architecture and sweeping views, Tappan Hill Mansion set the stage for a day filled with emotion, elegance, and sweeping views of the valley.
From the start, Nakora and Dan envisioned a wedding that felt soft, classic, and spring-forward — with colorful florals and lush touches that would bring the season to life, even if the trees hadn’t quite turned green yet. Inspired by garden romance and subtle drama, Nakora’s gown added a stunning statement that felt both timeless and bold. Despite the rain, we were able to get outside for a few dreamy portraits and wedding party photos, taking advantage of the mansion’s scenic grounds. The mist created a beautiful softness that felt straight out of a painting — proof that sometimes nature has a few romantic tricks up its sleeve.
Every part of the day was rooted in connection: with each other, with family, and with the journey that brought them to this moment. From the quiet getting ready moments to the heartfelt speeches and joy-filled dancing, Nakora and Dan’s wedding was a testament to love showing up in all kinds of weather — and shining all the more for it.
