There’s something so special about photographing couples in places that hold meaning to them — and for Kelly and Brendan, that place is Hoboken. It’s where they met, where they had their first apartment together, and where their love story truly began. So when it came time for their engagement session, there was no better backdrop than the charming streets and waterfront views of uptown Hoboken.
Kelly and Brendan first met in 2022 on Hinge and had their first date at Belo Bar right in town. They hit it off immediately and have been inseparable ever since. From quiet everyday moments to dinner dates, long walks, and road trips, they love simply being together.
Their engagement story is as magical as it gets! Brendan proposed just after Christmas in front of the iconic tree at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel, with the stunning St. Patrick’s Cathedral in the background. Afterward, they celebrated with their closest friends and family — an unforgettable way to kick off this next chapter.
For their session, we wandered through some of Hoboken’s most iconic spots, starting with the beautiful brownstone-lined streets before heading to City Bistro for drinks (and, of course, splitting the G!). We ended the evening down by the waterfront, soaking in the golden hour glow with the Manhattan skyline behind them.
These two are tying the knot next May at Fiddler’s Elbow, and I already know it’s going to be such a special day. Kelly and Brendan, thank you for such a fun evening and for sharing this meaningful place with me — I can’t wait to capture your big day next year!
