Sabrina and Kyle’s session began with a light summer drizzle — just enough to send us beneath the wisteria vines at Van Vleck House & Gardens. But what could have been a setback quickly turned into something magical, as the soft rain added such a romantic touch to the start of their photos. Once the skies cleared, we explored the gardens, capturing the most beautiful moments between these two.
Sabrina and Kyle are high school sweethearts who first became close friends back in sophomore year, and started dating as seniors (with Kyle making the first move!). From promposals at Natirar to “Monay Fundays” walking through their favorite parks, they built a foundation rooted in friendship and deep connection from early on. Even during four years of long-distance in college, their relationship only continued to grow stronger.
This past March, Kyle surprised Sabrina with the most thoughtful proposal on a pier in Exchange Place, with the NYC skyline as their backdrop. What started as a stressful day filled with passport drama turned into the happiest night of surprises. After the proposal, Kyle had arranged for both of their families to celebrate with them at dinner, followed by a second surprise with all of their closest friends waiting at home. It was emotional, joyful, and so perfectly them.
These two truly are best friends who share such an easy, genuine love. Whether they’re exploring favorite travel spots like Stone Harbor and the Bahamas, dancing the night away at Kyma in NYC, or spending a cozy evening in watching Summer House and cooking together, they make the most of every moment they share.
I’m so excited to photograph their wedding next September at Ashford Estate — it’s going to be such an unforgettable day celebrating this incredible couple!
