A beautiful evening in the city with Rebecca and Luke! We had to deal with a few reschedules due to weather, so we were so happy to finally have a gorgeous night for their engagement photos. Between the extreme heat and unpredictable rain lately, not to mention hurricane remnants and tornado warnings, scheduling sessions is starting to feel like an extreme sport, but beyond relieved this sweet couple had such a perfect evening.
Rebecca and Luke first met in high school, but didn’t start dating until the summer going into sophomore year of college. These two have been in the same friend group since then — and have been together for seven years now! I love when friendships blossom into relationships, and we were talking about how hard it is these days to organically meet a romantic partner. In fact, most of my couples either knew each other from high school (like Rebecca and Luke) or meet via dating apps (like me and my husband!).
Luke officially popped the question to Rebecca last summer! As Rebecca tells it, “Luke surprised me by proposing on a rooftop in SOHO, NYC. It was beautiful because there was a surprise saxophone player, photographer, and videographer. The ring is absolutely gorgeous! It has beautiful diamonds around the band and I am constantly just staring at it.” It sounds like an absolutely perfect proposal!
Together these two live in Hoboken and love watching movies, cooking, and traveling to new places. Not to mention, they recently got an adorable Bernese Mountain Dog puppy named Moose (!!!) and have been loving being dog parents. I am so excited to document their wedding next July at Park Chateau — and praying Moose makes an appearance on the big day because I just have to meet that cutie!
