Traditional Country Club Wedding at Brooklake

Florham Park, New Jersey

Meet the new Mr. and Mrs. Manley! I had the best time celebrating Kaitlin and Chris and feel so fortunate they chose me to document their special day. From the first time we met at their Spring Lake engagement session, I knew these two shared a very special love.

Kaitlin and Chris first met on Hinge and had their first date at The Wren on Bowery a few weeks after they started talking. As Kaitlin tells it, “We both knew after that first night that this would be different than people we dated in the past, and felt the connection pretty quickly.” Fast forward to November of 2020 in Southampton, NY. A walk on the beach turned to a perfect proposal, and Kaitlin of course said yes!

“Chris has family that lives out there and it has always been a place that his family has spent a lot of time. We were staying for a long weekend in Sag Harbor, after our trip to Bermuda was cancelled due to COVID. The morning of the proposal, we had breakfast at one of our favorite brunch places, The Hampton Maid. After breakfast, we headed to take a walk on a beach that Chris’s family always went to when he was growing up because the weather was so nice that weekend. We walked about half a mile down the beach and Chris turned to me and started saying really sweet things, and then got down on one knee in the sand and asked me to marry him! It was so special and there was not anyone else on the beach — it was so nice that we were able to have such a special moment with just the two of us.”

Her ring is a gorgeous 3 stone ring set in platinum with radiant cut diamonds. Although they did go shopping together to figure out what Kaitlin liked, Chris designed it himself and it turned out perfectly! “It is the perfect ring for me! I wanted something timeless and classic that wasn’t too trendy, and I feel like Chris nailed it. It came in right under the wire due to the difficulty of sourcing the stones (he got it a few days before we got engaged), and it turned out so perfectly!”

Kaitlin and Chris drew inspiration for their wedding day primarily from Pinterest! “I wanted it to be timeless and classic,” Kaitlin told me. “Very much something that we will not look back on in 30 years and say, ‘Oh that is so dated!'” Chris had actually attended a wedding at Brooklake and had an amazing experience. As soon as they toured the venue, they fell in love and knew it was the place to tie the knot!

We had the most beautiful, warm weather — unseasonably so for November! — and it was such a pleasure celebrating these two alongside their friends and family. From their traditional church ceremony at St. Patrick’s in Chatham to the lively dance floor at Brooklake, it was truly such a beautiful day. Congratulations again to Kaitlin and Chris, I couldn’t be happier for the two of you!
