Crazy enough I hadn’t been to Central Park for a session since this past May, so I couldn’t have been more excited to get back into the city to finally meet Katie and Carlos to take their engagement photos! It was a beautiful, early-autumn evening and the leaves were just beginning to change in some parts of the park. We had the most glorious, glowy light and couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather.
Katie and Carlos first met at work back in 2015 when they were both working at Bloomberg in Princeton. These two have officially been together for seven years now! Katie technically made the first move by asking Carlos to take a shot with her at a house party (at his own house!) in Princeton — and the rest, as they say, is history. From that moment, Carlos knew Katie was the one for him and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
Carlos popped the question last October in upstate New York near the Finger Lakes (where Katie is originally from), and on her birthday nonetheless! She was so surprised, and of course said yes. Katie absolutely loves her ring. As she told me, “It’s STUNNING! It’s from Ring Concierge. It’s a radiant! We picked it out together but I didn’t know if Carlos would go with this exact one.” Thankfully he did, and it looks absolutely perfect on Katie’s hand.
Together these two live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and love making or going out to dinner, spending time with family (including their adorable two nieces who will be in their wedding) and friends, watching the Buffalo Bills, and going on long walks together.
From start to finish, I truly had the best time with Katie and Carlos! Although they live in the city and often frequent Central Park, they had never been to the Bethesda Terrace area — aka basically the only place I go in the park for sessions — so I was more than happy to show them around and feel like the local. I am so excited to celebrate these two next September at The Mansion at Natirar, it’s going to be the most perfect day!
