This was my LAST engagement session of 2021! It’s crazy to believe that 35+ engagement sessions later I’m nearly done for the year — but still two more weddings left before ringing in 2022.
Lucie and Jon first met when they were working together as teachers!
As Lucie tells it, “We were pretty good friends for the first two years and would flirt, but neither one of us were really interested in anything more. After two years, Jon left the school and on his last day he asked me to come over and hangout.”
The two of them began officially dating in 2019 and got engaged this past June on Lucie’s parents’ 34th wedding anniversary, which made it all the more special.
Jon proposed outside of their church, and Lucie was totally surprised! “I was actually dumbfounded and didn’t say anything for about a minute, and was just so shocked but excited! I knew it was coming but had absolutely no idea it was going to be then.”
Funny enough, Lucie and I are ring twins! Our engagement rings are SO similar — so obviously I’m biased and totally obsessed with hers. ”I had sent Jon a picture of a yellow gold band with a round diamond with a 4 prong two tone — but then he did everything else so it was a surprise, I had no clue what he would do with it.”
The ring Jon ended up getting was set with 6 prongs, and when he proposed he started explaining why it wasn’t 4 prongs because he thought she was upset — but that couldn’t be farther from the truth, Lucie loved it!
I am SO excited to celebrate these two next July at Maplewood Country Club!
