A Summer Garden Wedding at Crossed Keys Estate

Andover, New Jersey

Alex and Jackson are married! These two had the most magical celebration full of so much joy, laughter, and pure romance at the absolutely gorgeous Crossed Keys Estate.

The story of this sweet couple is one of my favorite. Alex and Jackson both went to my high school, however, they didn’t know each other at the time — Alex was two grades above Jackson and their paths never crossed. Fast forward a few years, and Alex’s best friend Jamie (who is also Jackson’s neighbor) introduced the two of them. They hit it off right away, and the rest is history. Together these two live in Hoboken and share many common interests, including watching and reviewing new movies for their podcast!

Alex and Jackson’s wedding day was a gorgeous, summer day at the end of June. It was one of those first few really warm days of the year, but with that came absolutely beautiful sunlight filtering in through the trees. It was my first time shooting at Crossed Keys Estate, and as I explored the grounds scouting locations for portraits I was in awe of how many beautiful spaces there were to shoot.

The girls were getting their glam done in The Playhouse, a beautiful rustic barn full of French country furnishings. Just up the gravel road, the guys got dressed in Pequest Parlor. Alex and Jackson shared a first look under the lush canopy of trees near the Reflection Pool behind The Playhouse, and Jackson’s reaction to seeing his bride was absolutely priceless. We made our way around the property for portraits, and then it was time to get married!

Crossed Keys has an in-house floral design team, and they certainly did not disappoint. The garden area in front of The Playhouse served as the perfect backdrop for their sweet ceremony, officiated by Alex’s best friend — and they reason they met — Jamie. At last these two were husband and wife, and it was time to celebrate! Their guests danced the night away in the stunning farmhouse reception space (its floor-to-ceiling windows and white walls are a photographer’s dream) and the night ended with an intimate afterparty outside near the firepit.

I couldn’t be happier for these two fellow GL alumni, and feel so beyond honored to have been a part of their special day! Congratulations Alex and Jackson!
