As much as I love all wedding days, it’s just all the more special when it’s for your friends! We first met Nicole when we were living in the same apartment building in Jersey City — we had both recently gotten puppies so we spent hours upon hours together in the building’s dog run getting their energy out, and our pups became fast friends (and so did we!). Although we both eventually moved out to the New Jersey suburbs, Nicole was a few towns away from us until this past year when she bought a house on the very same street as us. From Jersey-City-dog-run friends to actual-adult-house neighbors!
When Nicole and Chris first got engaged, I couldn’t have been more excited for Nutella’s parents to be tying the knot! Nicole wanted to make sure I was able to be a guest and actually enjoy the party, and thankfully my talented associate Lexi was available to document their special day.
Chris is a big boat guy, so finding a venue that incorporated his love of all things nautical was super important to these two — and Crystal Point was exactly that, and so much more. As a guest it was so much fun to be able to experience a wedding day from a different perspective, and most excitingly, partake in all the delicious cocktail hour food. Say what you want about New Jersey venues, but they do cocktail hour food right! From the quesadilla station to the mac and cheese bar, and all the other delicious options along the way, I can certainly attest to the fact that being a guest takes the cake. However, I couldn’t help myself from arriving early and helping out with some couple’s portraits on the docks!
I am so happy we were able to celebrate alongside Nicole and Chris, and a big thank you to my amazing team for documenting their day flawlessly. Congratulations to the Jessens!
