Huntington Harbor New York Engagement

Huntington, New York

From the moment Hayley told me her idea for their engagement photos, I instantly knew we were going to make MAGIC.

But first, a little about these two! Sweet Hayley and Anthony have been together for 5 years.

“We met in Westhampton at Cupsogue Beach — where we are now getting married,” Hayley explained to me. “I was with my cousin who made me (last minute) take the day off from work. I hadn’t had a weekend day off yet, and it was already August. Anthony and his friends ended up posting up right next to us, they started up a conversation and the rest is history!”

Although Hayley said she initially didn’t think much of the guys that were trying to chat them up on the beach, with some encouragement from her cousin she gave Anthony a shot — and so thankful she did! They went on their first date a week later.

Fast forward to November of 2019 when Anthony proposed at a quaint Italian restaurant in historic Stony Brook Village! “We were sitting in the back of the restaurant, I was completely shocked! Everyone there seemed to know it was happening except for me! The whole place, managers, and other guests sent champagne over to the table, it was perfect! We then walked over to a bar across the street on the water for a night cap and about 50 of our closest friends and family were waiting for us — one of the best days/nights ever.”

Hayley’s engagement ring is absolutely stunning! Anthony went to London Jewelers with her two sisters and built it from scratch. The ring has three stones, with a thin platinum band.

Although these two owned a home together in Charleston, SC for a few years, they decided to come back up to Long Island where they both are from and purchase a house in Huntington, NY. While they loved Charleston, it never truly felt like home to them.

Their incredible beach bungalow in Huntington was built in the 1930s and is right by the harbor. They did an amazing job on the renovation (I was able to meet them there before our session and I must have said how much I loved their house at least 20 times) and their entire neighborhood looks like something out of a story book.

Hayley and Anthony are both extremely family-oriented people and love spending time with their families. Together they love the outdoors, the beach, playing tennis, trying out new restaurants, and cooking.

Taking Hayley and Anthony’s engagement photos in Huntington was so incredibly meaningful and special. First we drove out the beach on Huntington Harbor, which was truly a stone’s throw away from their home. From there, we headed over to a nearby marina where we met up with their friend Peter who were hooking us up with his absolutely beautiful wooden speedboat.

I told you we were going to make magic!

The evening was seriously so perfect — Hayley and Anthony were an absolute joy to work with, and incorporating this incredible boat into their photos truly made it such a unique and inspiring session. And just when I thought the evening couldn’t get any better, we grabbed a drink together afterwards at Prime, a restaurant right on the harbor. It was such a perfect night!

I cannot wait to see these two again at their wedding this October at Oceanbleu in Westhampton Beach! Congratulations Hayley and Anthony!
