East County Park Warren Engagement

I had the BEST time with Megan and Anthony during their engagement session! We had such a beautiful night for their shoot, and we were laughing and joking the whole time!

These two first met through friends in college! As Megan put it, “It is a SEMI-scandal… BUT REALLY NOT AS SCANDALOUS AS IT SOUNDS!”

Anthony was actually Megan’s ex-boyfriend’s best friend! Her ex lost touch with all his home friends (Anthony included) and broke up with her along the way! Anthony’s girlfriend at the time also left him. “We bonded over heartbreak, and here we are!” Megan also went on the record to say that they bonded several years, not a day or week, later!

At this point they have been together five years, lived together for two, and have two furbabies together (sweet Olive and Stevie!).

Together these two currently live in Green Brook, which is Anthony’s home town and not far from where Meg grew up. They actually both went to the same high school, but never knew each other because the school is so large. “It took leaving the state for college, and being with the wrong people, to find each other right back where we both started! And now here we are.”

Meg was TOTALLY surprised by Anthony’s proposal! He made Carlie, Megan’s best friend and maid of honor, inconspicuously figure out what types of rings she liked for an entire year.

“Carlie even faked having a bum finger and “wasn’t able to try on wedding bands herself,” so she had me try on bands for her… which casually turned into engagement rings. She found out what I liked, spilled the beans to Ant! Meanwhile, I was under the impression Ant would wait at least a year to propose, because we agreed to save money! Fooled me!”

They got engaged on November 29th of 2020! As Megan tells it, “We were with Carlie and her husband actually,  looking for Christmas trees as we do every year (it’s our little tradition).  As Anthony knelt to “chop down the tree” OR SO I THOUGHT… I look down to see him actually holding my ring! I couldn’t have been more surprised!”

In their spare time, Meg and Ant love to golf and go to the beach (Cape May specifically!). Meg loves to drink wine and Ant loves to drive, which works out great! Because Anthony is always known as the DD, Meg came up with a great idea for their engagement session – she would be drinking wine and Ant would have a Coke because he always orders soda when they’re out – which I was all for. I absolutely LOVE when couples incorporate props or meaningful elements into their engagement session to help tell their story!

I am so excited for Megan and Anthony’s wedding next August at the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ! Congratulations to these two!!!
