I guess April showers sometimes bring… May showers? There had been SO much rain the past few days, and despite a clear forecast all week for the evening of Katie and Chris’s engagement session we were met with cloudy skies and unrelenting rain.
Thankfully, these two had the best attitude about the weather and fully embraced the romantically rainy vibe of their session. Although I personally looked like a wet rat, Katie and Chris looked perfect and I had the best time despite the less than favorable circumstances! Lucky for us, once they changed into their second outfits we were met with cloudy but clear skies, and even had full visibility of the skyline from the waterfront.
Katie and Chris are a fellow dating-app-success-story (which we know I love), and have been together for three years now. As Katie tells it, “We met on Hinge and had our first date at the Warren in the West Village. We got two drinks over the course of four hours because we couldn’t stop talking, and then got kicked out of the bar because they were closing.” And the rest, they say, is history!
Fast forward a few years down the road and Chris was able to successfully pull off an elaborate Miami proposal — after convincing Katie over and over that he would NEVER go through security with an engagement ring (heh heh). Thankfully all went according to plan, and Chris totally surprised Katie by popping the question on the beach one night before dinner. Katie, of course, said yes (eventually, after initially being super shocked!) and absolutely loves her ring. “It’s an elongated cushion cut ring, and exactly what I wanted!”
Together these two live in Hoboken and are both super active — they love playing tennis and pickleball, and getting competitive with each other. They also enjoy going out to dinner and trying new restaurants in Hoboken and Jersey City, as well as cooking dinner together and having cozy nights in.
I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate these two next June at Bay Head Yacht Club, it’s going to be an absolutely beautiful day!
