Thankful for some beautiful spring weather (finally!) for Maria and Matt’s wedding day at Westmount Country Club! These two got one of the most beautiful days we’ve had this year so far, to the point where people were quite literally texting Maria all day just to say, “This WEATHER!” After a full week of rain, gorgeous sunny skies were quite overdue!
Maria and Matt met right after Maria graduated college in 2017 when they were both working at a restaurant in town while looking for full-time work. When they first met Matt was in another relationship, but they quickly became friends. Maria started to realize she might like him, and had a sneaking suspicion he liked her too, but the timing just wasn’t right. They lost touch for a couple of months when Matt got another job, but Maria eventually heard he and his previous girlfriend had broken up. Fate brought them back together, and they officially started dating at the beginning of 2018.
Fast forward to December 2021, when Matt popped the question on the rooftop of their building in Hoboken, with the beautiful city skyline view behind them! Maria absolutely loves her ring. “I told him the shape and band I wanted,” she explained, “We went browsing in the store and tried some on. It ended up being bigger than I expected, which was a great surprise!”
As Maria and Matt began wedding planning, there was one decision that was an absolute no brainer — their venue. Maria’s parents had gotten married at Westmount Country Club, so it was super meaningful for these two to make their union official there as well.
I actually went to high school with Maria, and although we didn’t know each other well at the time as we were in different grades, it has been so special being a part of their wedding journey! It definitely felt like a high school reunion on the day-of which was SO much fun, especially because these guests certainly did not fail to bring the party.
I am so happy for Maria and Matt, congratulations again to the Mittlemans!
