What a gorgeous day celebrating Brooke and Mike! About a week or so before the big day, Brooke texted me feeling nervous about the weather. She asked if she should get clear umbrellas, what to do in case of rain, etc. However we ended up with the most beautiful weather, truly the perfect scenario for a late October day! The sun peeked through the clouds, the air was filled with a cool breeze, and there wasn’t a drop of rain to be seen.
These two first met thanks to their mutual friend, Russell — who actually officiated their wedding! As Brooke tells it, “We hung out a few times as a group, and Mike and I had instantly connected over our shared sense of humor. He then asked me out after a months of knowing each other and took me on a date to the MET, Lincoln Center, and then just wandered around the city for the entire day. I had initially thought we were just going to the city as friends (super naive, I know), but slowly realized it was much more than that as the day progressed. It was the most amazing day.”
Brooke and Mike got engaged on May 22, 2021! I absolutely love their proposal story. “Mike’s birthday is May 20th, so I planned a big birthday party for him at Beneduce Winery. Little did I know, that birthday party I had planned was disguised as our engagement party (I had absolutely no idea)! We went to brunch in Princeton that morning and Mike proposed to me there, then drove back to our house where some of our friends decorated and surprised us, and then went to the winery afterwards! It was a huge surprise and one of the best days of my life.”
I had never been to Lambertville, but it certainly lived up to the hype! One of the most “fall” weekends of the year, Lambertville had so much going on — from a parade through the streets to a beer festival in the venue parking lot. Although that wasn’t exactly ideal to Brooke and Mike (understandably so), it truly didn’t stop them from having an absolutely perfect day.
A beautiful getting ready suite hosted Brooke and her girls, and when we came together for the couple’s first look emotions ran high. Brooke had never even seen Mike cry before, but he broke down seeing his stunning bride-to-be. Brooke truly did look incredible, and exploring the property with these two was so much fun — one of the reasons I love shooting at venues I haven’t been to before.
It was such an honor capturing this special day for two sweet souls, congratulations again to Mr. and Mrs. Pyne!
