It is always such an honor to photograph another photographer’s special day! I absolutely love Jess, and when she first reached out to me about documenting her wedding day I was absolutely ecstatic. It means so much for another creative in the industry to trust you and admire your craft, and I knew her celebration would be nothing short of incredible.
Jess and Jared first met thanks to the Bonefish Grill! As Jess tells it, “We grew up only a town apart and had mutual friends, but didn’t end up meeting each other until 2018. He was a server at a restaurant near us, Bonefish Grill! One of my good friends wanted to go out to dinner one night so we went there the two of us. She was close with the manager, Melanie, who worked at bonefish. After finding out I was single, Melanie wanted to introduce me to a server and brought over Jared! When he got to the table Melanie awkwardly said she’s trying to find him a wife… and here we are! I later found out Jared saw me walk into Bonefish and wanted to talk to me before even knowing Melanie’s plan. It’s crazy to think I almost didn’t say yes to going out to dinner that night, and Jared almost called out of work that day! It was all meant to be and it’s been amazing ever since!”
Jared officially popped the question in April of 2022 and Jess, of course, said yes. They picked out her ring together, and she absolutely loves it. “My ring is a round diamond with a halo around it and diamonds going down the side. Jared doesn’t have the best track record of getting me jewelry I have liked in the past, so when it came to my engagement ring, I knew it was something I wanted to go shopping for together!” These two recently bought their first home together, and in their spare time love going to the beach, eating at new restaurants, watching Jared’s hockey team play, and binging Netflix.
When I asked Jess what inspired her vision for her own wedding day, she told me, “After going to so many weddings, I’ve just pieced together little things I’ve liked from each! The main reason we picked this venue is because I’ve never photographed there before.” As a fellow photographer, I can attest to the fact that to us, wedding venues = work, so it’s super important to be able to separate your own wedding day from places you’ve photographed in the past for your job!
Thankfully these two got an absolutely beautiful day for their celebration — we had the most gorgeous light from start to finish, and it ended up being everything they had ever dreamed of and more. Congratulations again to the new Mr. and Mrs. Ellman!
