A Labor Day weekend for the books celebrating sweet Jillian and Will in the Hamptons! We couldn’t have gotten a more beautiful September day for this absolutely stunning wedding. A cool ocean breeze combined with opulent, fairytale florals made for the perfect celebration for this wonderful couple.
Jillian and Will met on the dating app, Ship, in March of 2019! As Jillian tells it, “The funny part about the story of our first date is that we were both actually about to cancel it for different reasons. Will was in between jobs and didn’t feel like he was in a good place to start a relationship, but the day of our scheduled first date he got a job offer and decided it may be a good omen. I had just gone through a negative dating experience and questioned if I really wanted to invest more time in an online match at that point, but told myself why not. I was so convinced it wouldn’t go well, I even booked an 8 AM workout class for the next day! It turned out that we had the best time and our first date turned into a 5 hour long bar crawl that ended with late night pizza and kissing in the rain, and the rest is history!”
I absolutely love Jillian’s ring! “My ring is a round solitaire on a pave band. It is exactly what I hoped for! We went looking at rings together three different times over the course of two months before I really knew what I wanted. At the end of the day, we worked with a family friend who is a jeweler and he and Will worked to put together the exact ring I was looking for. Will was so good at hiding that he had the ring under our roof, I had no idea when it had come in the mail!”
Together these two made the move from Washington DC to Alexandria, VA and enjoy going for walks with their dog, Mocha, as well as watching trashy reality television. “We both like to prioritize our friends and family, but always make time for a date night out or a boozy brunch just us two. We love to cook and host our loved ones, and are enjoying hanging out in our brand new (small) backyard. Also, we enjoy playing tennis, watching Michigan sports, and occasionally soccer to keep Will happy.”
When planning their wedding day, Oceanbleu was basically a no brainer! “We wanted the day to feel like a breath of fresh air. We decided to stick with earth tones and greenery to create a calming, yet fun vibe.” Westhampton Beach has been a special place for Jillian’s family, and for the two of them as a couple, for a long time. Jillian’s parents have a house on the same road that the venue is on, and Jillian and Will loved that it was in a place they knew they would always come back to.
This was my second time shooting at Oceanbleu, and it never disappoints! From start to finish, this day was a dream to be a part of and I am so grateful to Jillian, Will, and their families for entrusting me to document this incredible celebration. Endless congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Talbot!
