I had the best time with Alyssa and Colin during their engagement session! These two are the absolute sweetest, and so much fun to work with.
They first met in the last few months of college at the University of Scranton! As Alyssa tells it, “We surprisingly really never crossed paths for being a small school, and met at Oscar’s (a bar that is known to every Scranton alumni probably). Colin had a mutual friend introduce us, and we talked the rest of the night! From there, we went on our first date in Scranton — then it was time to graduate! Pretty crazy! Before we left, we figured out that our hometowns were 15 minutes away and spent that summer inseparable. We have been together now 7 years!”
As for Colin’s proposal, Alyssa was totally caught off guard! I absolutely love their proposal story. “So it’s kind of funny, because I usually can sniff anything unusual out — but Colin knew I had a planned dentist appointment already scheduled for the Saturday morning, which is back home in Clinton, NJ. So, I love the dentist and was cheery just knowing I was going to the dentist in the morning. As we usually do, we packed up the dog and headed to my mom’s for the night! I went to the dentist and came home feeling refreshed from my cleaning. Colin wanted to take Riggy (our dog) for a walk and let me decide where I felt like going. As a favorite place to run, walk with friends, and adventure with the dog, the Columbia Trail was an easy place for me to pick. Well, Riggy was being nuts, of course, so I was running ahead of Colin to tire him out — and this time, Colin caught up to us without me knowing. We turned around to wait for him, but he was already there on one knee! It had just snowed and was so beautiful out — quiet, just the two of us to enjoy this moment together.”
Alyssa absolutely loves her ring — a cushion cut with a little hidden halo surprise and pave band. “I definitely picked many pieces of different rings I liked, and Colin put it all together himself to give me the most sparkly ring I could imagine!”
Together these two live in Hoboken, NJ and love doing everything and anything with their sweet pup, Riggy! “We love to take him swimming, long walks, and out to eat! We also love to travel, and will say Greece this past September has become our favorite. It was my first time going and it truly is just a magical breath taking country — and Colin is Greek, so he’s seasoned in traveling there before!”
I cannot wait to celebrate these two next July at The Ryland Inn, it’s going to be the most beautiful day!
