Modern City Rooftop Wedding at Box House Hotel

Brooklyn, New York

|

This Brooklyn rooftop celebration was nothing short of magical, from the iconic city views to the elaborate floral designs, and every incredible moment in between! Alongside their closest friends and family, Rachael and Scott two made their marriage official and danced the night away under the stars.

When Rachael and Scott first reached out to me, they were still trying to figure out what style of wedding photography felt the most like them. I feel so grateful that these two were sent my way, because being a part of their special day was so amazing! These two first met on Bumble (you know I love a fellow Bumble success story!) when living in New York City over six years ago. In 2020, they decided to make the move from NYC down to Rachael’s hometown of Atlanta, but made frequent visits back to their favorite place (aka the Hamptons)! Scott proposed to Rachael on one of these Hamptons trips, and she of course said yes.

Rachael and Scott’s vision for their wedding day was absolutely stunning, and one of my favorite weddings I’ve captured this year. It was so unique and each detail was more beautiful than the last — the most beautiful of which were probably Rachael and Scott themselves, I mean seriously are they models?! We started the day with Rachael and the girls at the venue, and Scott and the guys in Williamsburg at The William Vale. Both Brooklyn hotels were gorgeous, and as this couple prepared for their special day it was evident how loved they both are, together and as a couple.

Dodging city traffic, we separately made our way to DUMBO for these two to share a private first look (well, private meaning Rachael, Scott, two photographers, a videographer, a planner, and all of the hundreds of tourists in DUMBO that day). But as far as Rachael and Scott were concerned, in that moment it was only the two of them.

Their sweet wedding party and families joined us in DUMBO for photos, and before we knew it it was time to head back to the venue and get these two married! The ceremony space was absolutely breathtaking — an intricately adorned chuppah under the string lights with the vast city skyline in the background. As Rachael and Scott’s guests filtered in and took their seats, it was nearly time! They made their union official in front of their friends and family, and then it was time to get the party started!

I am so happy to have been a party of Rachael and Scott’s special day — mazel tov to the Wheatons!
